A few months ago I decided to change career. I had the chance to become a self-employed IBM distributor, I also offer London IT support and London computer support – there was absolutely no way that I was going to pass up the opportunity.
My previous role had been a some what drab and dreary nine to five office job. I had been there for the previous four years and felt that I was rather cruising along instead of trying to push myself. I also did not feel as though I was being treated with an awful amount of respect.
The new career is going just great; I love the freedom that self-employment brings. I can basically choose my own hours which really does suit me due to the fact that I have two young children. It enables me to take them to school in the morning and to also pick them up. When I was working in the office I had to book them into a pre-school club and an after school club which was not only expensive it was also making it an extremely long day for the kids.
As well as the freedom I am now treated with full respect by the people that I am associated with. I have met many new people along the way which is also a great way for me to increase my levels of self-esteem – this was slowly being killed by my former employer via their bullying tactics.
I have worked in this new role for around six months now. I still have an awful lot to learn and I am very much aware that I need to brush up on my selling skills. I am however receiving full support and back up to help me to improve – this is very much appreciated.
Life is now as it should be – top class! I am certainly planning stay in this role for many years to come.
