You say you recognize where your cash is going and you don’t have to have it all marked down to maintain it? I issue you this challenge. Keep track of every penny you pay out for one month and I do mean every penny.
You will be shocked at what the itty-bitty charges mount up to. Take the quantity you spent on just one unnecessary item for the month, multiply it by 12 for months each year and multiply the end result by 5 to signify 5 years.
That is just how much you could have saved AND drawn interest on in only five years. That, my good friend, is the very purpose all of us need a budget.
If we can get a handle of the minor charges that simply don’t matter to the complete scheme of our existence, we can benefit from financial progress.
The little things really do matter. Cutting what you pay out on a noon-time meal from 5 dollars a day to three dollars a day on every working day in a 5 day work week saves $10 a week… $40 every month… $480 each year… $2400 in five-years… And interest.
See what I mean… It really IS the small things and you still eat lunch daily AND that was only one place to cut back money in your daily routine without getting rid of one thing you really need. There are a whole lot of sources to cut expenses if you look for them.
Set some precise long term and short term targets. There are no wrong answers here. If it’s important to you, then it’s important period.
If you want to be able to make a partial payment on a property, start a college fund for your young children, buy a sports car, take a vacation to Aruba, invest in corporations going public, or even get started in a public shell or shell companies… Anything… Then that is your goal and your reason to get a handle on your financial condition now.
